Z-Notes 4/1/21
Greetings, Third Church Friends!
OK, so it’s Maundy Thursday and not Easter Sunday. Probably my favorite floral moment of the year comes when my daffodils throw themselves open to the world. My lovely wife kindly sent me a pic of my beloveds in Ohio. I don’t think anything screams out We’re going to make it!! like the bright golden blossoms of my hale and hearty narcissus.
Long ago, I heard a sermon, “It’s Friday, but Sunday’s Comin’!” Well, it’s Maundy Thursday, but the Resurrection is coming. I hope you do your best to walk the via dolorosa of Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and Holy Saturday. Our solemnity, while more profound in the time of Covid-19, remains tempered by the sure and certain hope that we have from our faith: Sunday’s Comin’! I have the daffodils to prove it!
So short, sweet, and to the point: May the remainder of Holy Week be blessed; and “see” you in Church for the great celebration!
