Through involvement in children’s choirs, the youngest in our church community build a foundation of musical knowledge and faith development, enhancing other aspects of their Christian education. The choirs also provide a pool of peers that fosters friendship and a sense of acceptance into the larger "Family of God."
Carol Choir (Preschool)
Sunday 11:40am — 12:00pm (during Church School)
The children learn simple songs, play rhythm instruments, and explore musical ideas using movement and games. Participation reinforces Sunday School lessons and scripture through story and song and lays the foundations of pitch matching and musical concepts in a fun and engaging way. The Carol Choir traditionally sings in worship at the Nativity service on Christmas Eve.
Glorious Voices (Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grades)
Wednesday 5:30pm — 6:15pm (as part of the Qabats program)
Singers experience a multi-activity, multi-sensory program designed to introduce early-elementary children to basic musical ideas through games, movement, and songs. Emphasis is on exploring the voice, pitch matching, developing musical sensitivity, and having fun with music. The choir sings in worship about 2-3 times each year, including at the Nativity service on Christmas Eve and on Easter Sunday with the Junior Choir. Additionally, they take part in the children’s musicals.

Junior Choir (Grades 3-6)
Rehearsals expand on the musical foundation of our younger choirs, and singers learn musical terminology and healthy, age-appropriate vocal technique while exploring warm-ups, anthems, introits, and hymns throughout the program year. The Junior Choir takes an active role in worship leadership, singing each Sunday at the 10:45am worship service during the program year. In addition, the Junior Choir offers several special programs, including a spring children’s musical in even numbered years, and serves as the primary musical leadership group for the Nativity service each Christmas Eve.
The choir rehearses every Sunday and Wednesday during the program year. Wednesday rehearsals are held from 5:30pm — 6:15pm, and Sunday mornings from 9:30am - 10:30am.
Children's Musicals have been a long-standing tradition at Third Church. They offer a creative way for children to deepen their knowledge of biblical stories through singing and acting. The children can then in turn share their interpretation of these stories with the congregation in a worship setting.
