Welcome New Members!
We were thrilled to accept seven wonderful people into membership on February 9, 2020!

Nick and Libby Black moved to Rochester a few years ago. Nick is pursuing a PhD at the University of Rochester, and Libby is an RN at Strong Memorial Hospital. Libby grew up a Presbyterian in Tennessee, and Nick, born in Illinois but raised in Tennessee, also grew up in a faith-filled home. Both Nick and Libby expressed happiness to have found Third Church as a faith home and are eager to meet others and serve in the church.

Jonathan and Molly Johnson are parents to Eleanor (2 years) & Lucas (3 months). Jonathan, a Minnesota native, recently completed his residency at Strong Memorial Hospital, and now serves as an anesthesiologist at Unity Hospital. Molly, originally from Syracuse, is an English teacher. Now that they have put roots down in the area (in Fairport), they are happy to be joining our congregation, having attended regularly for the past four years.

Pat Gray is no stranger to Third Church. She has been in Rochester since 1976, and her late husband, George, and son Peter were both active in the life of the congregation. When her son was in youth group here, she helped in the youth and music programs. Pat looks forward to affirming her commitment to Third Church and its focus on faith and community.

Joelle Rooney is a native of the area, and came to Third Church this past fall when she began singing in the Chancel Choir. She joins Third Church with commitment to our mission and joy at the opportunity to be a part of this congregation. Joelle is a medicaid case manager, and lives nearby in the Neighborhood of the Arts with her husband Doug and their beloved cat. An avid hiker, Joelle is always looking for like-minded folks to explore the outdoors and local hidden treasures.

Brian Weaver relocated to Rochester from Buffalo almost two years ago and now, along with his husband Jim, calls Gates home. Brian, who works in technology, has 4 beautiful daughters. all of whom will finish college this spring. Brian loves the outdoors and is an avid runner and biker, including volunteering for the Ride for Missing & Exploited Children 100 mile ride each year as the lead safety guy. He loves restoring and renting older homes. Brian joined Third Church because of how welcoming, warm, and inclusive this community is.
