Melanie joined the staff of Third Presbyterian Church in early 2017. Prior to that, she worked in college student personnel on a variety of campuses in an advising/counseling role from student conduct, residential life, opportunity programs and general academic advisement. She hails from Brooklyn, New York, where she attended Lafayette Avenue Presbyterian Church in Fort Greene. After several years of attendance following her move to Rochester, Melanie became a member of Third Church in spring 2017. She is on the Sunday School teaching staff and enjoys the many ways the congregation seeks be of service to youth and community.
Melanie graduated with honors from SUNY College at Plattsburgh with a degree in Anthropology and Studio Art. She has an MEd from The University of Vermont. In addition to her degrees, Melanie is an AFAA/YMCA ACE certified fitness professional and NASM Certified Personal Trainer and teaches multiple dance-based formats. She considers herself a lifelong learner and periodically enjoys taking courses at local colleges that involve science, mathematics, education and social topics.
Melanie lives in Downtown Rochester and is married to Stephen Kittle.
