House the Homeless

Is not this the sort of fast that pleases me: to break unjust fetters, to undo the thongs
of the yoke, to let the oppressed go free, and to break all yokes? Is it not sharing your food
with the hungry, and sheltering the homeless poor …
Isaiah 58:6-7

Third Church works to shelter those who are homeless through a three ongoing efforts. As part of the Rochester Area Interfaith Hospitality Network, the congregation shares in a ministry that houses homeless families in church buildings. Members and friends are also involved in the Habitat for Humanity building program in Rochester’s JOSANA neighborhood. Twice each year, Third Church sends disaster relief crews to Louisiana to aid in the ongoing recovery from hurricane Katrina.
