Since September 2020, Third Church has received over 270 prayer requests via the prayer request portal on our website. Most requests come from outside the Third Church community…from across the country and around the world. Last month alone we’ve received requests from Thailand, India, Indonesia, South Africa, Australia, and Nigeria, and California, New Jersey, Virginia, Nevada, New York, Texas, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts and Colorado.

Some prayers are straightforward and simple; some are not. Some prayers are written in English; some are not. Some prayers are centered around appreciation and gratitude; some are filled with angst and anger. Some prayers are written as actual prayers; some simply provide the details and ask us to find the words.

Jane Carden and Tedd Pullano coordinate this ministry and respond to each prayer letting the sender know that Third Church is praying for them and with them, and inviting them to join our Tuesday Morning Prayer time. On Tuesdays when we gather for prayer (at 9:30am, on Google Meet—you are always welcome to join!), we add each prayer received online to the ongoing prayer list. We lift up, by name, all the prayer concerns we have received from inside our congregation and from outside our walls.
