Food Cupboard Volunteers Wanted

Our Food Cupboard Needs YOU! Every Thursday morning, we distribute three bags of groceries to 30-40 guests from the rear door of the Celebration Center, 9:15am-11:45am. We seek volunteers to join our rotation for two positions, greeter (outdoor) and emergency fund distributor (indoor).

The outdoor greeter ensures proper set-up, beginning at 8:30am, then welcomes each guest, collects their name, describes the day’s special choices of food, and texts all information to the registrar inside.

The emergency fund distributor writes checks for partial assistance with rent and utilities for guests with proof of need, and records the transaction in a database. This starts at 9:15am and runs concurrently with the food cupboard. The outdoor greeter is the courier of paperwork between the guest and fund distributor.

Our food cupboard runs safely and efficiently, but needs more hands to spread the workload. Full training will be provided. Contact Jim Pochodylo for more information. Thank you for your consideration.
