Published by the PC(USA), the book is an anthology by a variety of contributors with corresponding visuals, videos, and other resources on its own website, whypalestinematters.org. The book study will be entirely online, led by the distinguished Rev. Melanie Duguid-May, professor of theology at the Colgate Rochester-Crozier Divinity School.

Dr. Melanie A. Duguid-May is a Professor of Theology at CRCDS. Her work explores theology as a morally-obligated task and as a language through which to engage the flesh-and-blood realities of life. Her publications include many articles, book reviews, chapters, and essays in anthologies, dictionaries, edited volumes, encyclopedias, and journals—academic, ecclesial, and ecumenical, including international—and magazines. She has also authored and edited five books, including Bonds of Unity: Women, Theology and the Worldwide Church (Scholars Press, 1989); A Body Knows: A Theopoetics of Death and Resurrection (Continuum Publishing, 1995); and Jerusalem Testament: Palestinian Christians Speak, 1988-2008 (Eerdmans Publishing, 2010).

Duguid-May grew up in the Church of the Brethren, one of the Historic Peace Churches, and is now an ordained Priest in the Episcopal Church.
