This presentation reviews background on J. S. Bach, the place of the cantatas in the composer’s time in Leipzig, and a close look at the structure and makeup of Cantata 140, “Wachet auf, ruft uns die Stimme,” (“Sleepers Wake, A Voice Astounds Us”) including its texts and musical symmetry.

We hope you join us on GoogleMeet for this presentation in preparation for the choir’s offering in worship of this Special Music for Advent.
