Postcard Campaign to Combat Voter Suppression

We are all affected by elections in other states, because of who they send to the Senate and House. It’s frustrating to watch voter suppression in so many states resulting in gridlock on issues we care about at a national level. We can reach out to those impacted by voter suppression laws in other states.
The League of Women Voters-Rochester Metro Area and RocACTS are hosting a postcard party on Thursday, July 21 at 2:00pm at Third Church. They will have postcards from the Center for Common Ground to be sent to individuals in Florida to Get Out the Vote for their primary elections.
The Center for Common Ground is a non-partisan voting rights organization led by people of color whose goal is to educate and empower under-represented voters in voter suppression states to engage in elections and advocate for their right to vote.
They will bring postcards, pens, addresses, and stamps – you bring your enthusiasm and desire to help defend our democracy.
