Madrigalia: Songs of Protest, Songs of Peace CANCELLED in the interest of public health

March 13 @ 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm

CANCELLED in the interest of public health

Choral music group Madrigalia presents “Songs of Protest, Songs of Peace.” The program features expressions of  anger, dissatisfaction, and calls for change from many times and cultures, and links the need of justice with the desire for peace. Hear the music of Pete Seeger, and Billie Holliday; Kim Baryluk’s “Warrior” and Stephen Paulus’ “Hymn to the Eternal Flame.”

The budding “Justice Choir” movement seeks “to further social justice movements by engaging communities in singing together.” We will conclude the program by introducing songs from the movement’s Creative Commons Songbook, which is reconnecting communities throughout the U.S. to the practice of singing their dreams and messages.

Two performances, March 13 at 7:30pm, and March 14 at 7:30pm.  Purchase tickets.
