“Clarissa Uprooted” Outing

July 24, 2022 @ 11:15 am - 3:00 pm

Third Church’s Anti-Racism Team is organizing an afternoon around the acclaimed short film and corresponding exhibit, “Clarissa Uprooted.”

The exhibit focuses on Clarissa Street, the once thriving African-American residential and business corridor in Rochester, NY’s Third Ward, known for its celebrated Pythodd Jazz Club. Explore this portion of Rochester history—from neighborhood camaraderie, international jazz music, and thriving black-owned businesses, to redlining, urban renewal, and other racist policies.

Sign up here for each portion of the group experience, Sunday July 24 after worship!
