Third Presbyterian Church has a remarkable history of providing outstanding musical instruction to children and youth. The Third Church Choristers, now celebrating their fifth year, continue in this exciting tradition, featuring the musical talent of the youngest members of our community.

The program welcomes the participation of singers between the ages of 5 and 16 years of age from throughout the greater Rochester region. These young singers receive free music instruction weekly throughout the school year and perform alongside some of Rochester’s finest musicians, including the Third Church Chancel Choir, students and faculty from the Eastman School of Music, members of the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra, and more. Third Church Choristers are at the center of Third Church’s musical offerings and present a wide variety of repertoire: from the cantatas of Johann Sebastian Bach to world music to choral masterworks with organ and orchestra.

Third Church Choristers are divided into two groups by age range:

Cherubim Choir: ages 5-9, directed by Beth Fischer

Seraphim Choir: ages 10-16, directed by Renée Anne Louprette

Rehearsals for both groups are held on Wednesdays from 5:00 to 6:00 PM.

Thanks to a generous donation, this program is fully funded and is offered at no cost to participants.
