Sunday School

The month of March will begin the season of Lent! Families should look for their “One Great Hour of Sharing” fish banks and activities to come home this month. In addition, on March 22 the children will be presenting the musical offering “The Story of the Three Trees” during the 10:45am service.

Other notes for Sunday School this month:

March 1—“Teach us to Pray” from Matthew 6.  Children will participate in communion, so Sunday School will begin at 10:40am, with school-aged children coming into worship following the sermon (around 11:15am) to be present for communion.  This is also the day of the annual meeting following worship.

March 8—“Sow a Seed” from Matthew 13  (grades 3 & 4 at the worship table)

March 15—“You are the Messiah!” from Matthew 16 (grades 5 & 6 at the worship table)

March 22 Children’s Musical—No Sunday School (Nursery care available for infants-preschoolers)

March 29—“When did we see you, Lord?” from Matthew 25 (grades 1 & 2 at worship table)

In Sunday School in Lent, we will be learning about our denominational special offering for this season, One Great Hour of Sharing.  Children will be given fish banks and related activities early in the month to use through the season of Lent. Filled banks will be received in worship on Palm Sunday (April 5).

Children’s Ministry Parent Conversation
March 11 at 5:30pm in Johnston Hall

Help us to plan for the future.  ALL parents are invited to a conversation to talk about children’s ministry opportunities (especially, but not limited to, the Qabats program) to help us to be intentional about what our programmatic offerings look like moving forward.

Qabats Intergenerational Night
Wednesday, March 25, 5:30-7:15pm

ALL are welcome to join us for an evening of fun as we embark on “the Amazing Race: Third Church Edition.”  Members of the Children’s Ministry Committee are creating a challenge that participants will complete in intergenerational groups—an AMAZING race!  Whether you are a Qabats regular, or a part of the community looking for a night of fun and connection, you are welcome! So that we can plan for food, please RSVP to Becky at [email protected] by March 23.

Children’s Ministry is scheduled to host coffee hour on Sunday March 29.  Please contact Becky if you can help staff this, or if you can bring a treat to share.
