Children’s Ministry Update, November 2020

We are really enjoying this year’s multi-age virtual Sunday School (see photo!), as we have built community across ages by connecting our lives with the stories of our faith. We have heard from families that their children love seeing Becky and James teaching them songs via video, and listening to stories read by previous Sunday School teachers and other families in our program. With virtual worship, families have the opportunity to connect with worship from the comfort of their home, and we continue to send Children’s Bulletins to families weekly to help them find connections with the texts for the week.

For parents, a weekly Parent Check-In on Thursday evenings after bedtime has been a wonderful community builder, and we encourage parents who haven’t already to join us!!

Junior Choir continues to meet on Wednesdays, with wonderful enthusiasm from families and children. James is working on musical education and theory, as well as a virtual choir project for the near future. Most recently, James and Becky gave a tour of the church, and James has given a virtual organ demonstration to the choir. Everyone is welcome to attend sessions, and, as ever, please contact James for more information, or if you have any questions.

Parents can continue to check the Parent Portal each week for supplemental activities for each lesson—do contact Becky if you need to be sent the login credentials again!

For November, we will be finishing our “Brave Women and Men of the Old Testament” unit, and looking towards Advent with the start of our “Birth of Jesus” unit.

As always, both James and Becky are here to help families in any way we can, so don’t hesitate to reach out!
