Children’s Ministry Update, June 2020
Thank you, families, for keeping in touch! We are sorely missing your smiling faces and your presence with us.
We hope that some of our online options like “Virtual Qabats” check-ins and “Virtual Sunday School Coffee Hour” have kept you connected. I had so much fun seeing photo posts from those of you who participated in our pre-Easter “Great Presby Scripture treasure hunt!” I have enjoyed having conversations with you all via email, text, and even Facetime!
We hope you have appreciated your weekly mailings of an Illustrated Children’s Ministry worship bulletin (and if you would like to be either added to that distribution list or taken off, do contact Becky). Our goal is to help your family continue to be engaged with your faith and with the larger Bible story, and at the same time, to not add any additional pressure of providing formal instruction.
We are still in conversation on what programs for the fall will look like—at this point, no one really knows what the best practice will be, but we will do our best to communicate effectively with you all.
One thing we do know is that we are THRILLED to be adding James Kealey to our staff this July. We have already begun collaborating with him about what his leadership within children’s programming will look like.
When parents of children in Qabats met less than a week before Stay-at-Home orders, we considered the question, “If you were to build a children’s program from scratch, what would it look like?” That question seems all the more relevant today, and so we will be inviting your input in helping to form programming in a safe, creative, and meaningful way for the coming program year (and beyond).
Know that I am NEVER more than a phone call or an email away. I continue to be in prayer for all of the families of Third Church.

Children’s Ministry “Social Distance” Pen Pals
Knowing that many folks are “zoom-fatigued,” we thought it might be fun to connect the old-fashioned way for a change. If you’d be interested in joining a pen pal program—as a child, youth, adult, or whole family—please click here to share your preferences, or contact Becky.
