Children’s Ministry Update, February 2021

Sunday School

In the month of February, we will conclude our unit on “People Jesus Met” and begin our Lent unit, “Last Things” which focuses on Jesus’s final teachings and Holy Week.

Children in our program continue to receive weekly Children’s Bulletins, and, although it is not a replacement for face-to-face interaction, many families are taking advantage of our weekly virtual Sunday School class on Sunday mornings

The Parent Portal has been a marvelous home-base for parents to get videos of stories, songtime with James and Becky, and supplemental resources (including crafts, storybooks and other activities). Email Becky if you need the password to access the portal.

For parents, a weekly Parent Check-In on Thursday evenings at 9:00pm (after bedtime for the children!) has been a wonderful community builder, and we encourage parents who haven’t already to join us!!

Junior Choir

This spring, Junior Choir will be progressing with more music theory, and even a virtual choir project. Even though we aren’t able to safely be together at the moment, we are so glad we can use this time to make valuable connections through online mediums. Each month, Junior Choir will spend the last Sunday of the month on a special event. This semester, the choir will hear the history of Third Church, have a games night, and even perform a ‘Coffeehouse’ style concert.

We always welcome new members and guests, no matter what their previous musical experience has been, if any! Come and see for yourself how well our young musicians are doing, and how much they can achieve, even remotely. Email James Kealey (Associate Director of Music/Organist) for more information.
