Important Dates to Share:
- Join us for a rally and press conference ahead of the hearing today, Thursday, March 10 at 3:30pm to urge the City Council to pass the Eviction Reduction Law and keep our neighbors safe and housed. Since the moratorium was lifted on Jan. 15th, there have been 800+ eviction hearings in City Court. If you cannot join us, see the talking points on the law There is a fair amount of resistance from big landlords and real estate interests, and we need our Councilmembers to stand strong.
- Greater Rochester Antiracist Education Virtual Conference: Teaching, Action, Equity, & Justice. March 12, 9:00am – 3:00pm. The conference will feature two keynote presentations from Dr. Bettina Love, author of We Want To Do More Than Survive and Dr. Decoteau J. Irby, author of Stuck Improving: Racial Equity and School Leadership and breakout sessions led by local youth, educators and activists. - Annual Legislative Briefing: “Solving Poverty in Rochester: Universal Basic Income?” March 13, 2:00pm, featuring Mayor Malik Evans and a panel of faith leaders; hosted by Greater Rochester Council of Churches.
