“On this week marking one year since the police responded to a call to help Daniel Prude, may we be in solidarity with all who are persecuted.” Laurel Nelson

Our Presbytery’s Rev. Nelson relays a message from our brothers and sisters at Rochester Korean Presbyterian Church, Rev. Young Jun Kim, requesting our prayers, as well as Rev. Luke Choi, Assistant Stated Clerk of the General Assembly:

Thank you for the email and for Rev Laurel reaching out to RKPC. We too have been saddened by what occurred in Georgia and are praying for the communities and people affected there. For us, locally, our church community has not experienced any racism from the city and the towns that we represent. At least, none have been reported to me. We consider ourselves fortunate and ask only for God’s continued mercy and protection. We would appreciate your prayers in this regard.

Rev. Young Jun Kim, Rochester Korean Presbyterian Church

I just want to personally thank you for your thoughts and support for our Asian community.  I’m so grateful to the Lord that with every little micro-aggression or mistreatment our community might’ve experienced we have this overwhelmingly engulfing love and gracious support from our neighbors and friends like you and Jim and the good folks of the Presbytery of Genesee Valley. We shall indeed overcome every injustice and hatred together by relying on nothing but the truth and the grace of Jesus Christ, and I praise the Lord for you that your message gives me the hope and the assurance of that. Blessings…

In Christ,

Rev. Luke Choi
