Annual Concert in Honor of Peter and Mary DuBois

This year marks the thirtieth anniversary of Peter DuBois’ ministry at Third Presbyterian Church! Peter, Mary, and their young children, Alice and David, moved to Rochester in 1991 and immediately immersed themselves in the life of this congregation. As our Director of Music/Organist, Peter has directed the Chancel Choir, established and directed the Covenant Singers youth choir, directed musicals and the biennial Boar’s Head Festival, conducted semi-annual special music offerings for choir and orchestra, and acted as a mentor for young organists beginning their careers, all in addition to his regular contributions of exceptional organ music for worship and in concert. Peter has also served the broader community as a professor at the Eastman School of Music, the host of WXXI’s “With Heart and Voice” radio program, and in various roles with the Rochester Chapter of the American Guild of Organists. Mary has served as a Deacon, provided leadership for children’s and youth musicals, and participated in Boar’s Head Festivals and Chancel Choir tours. Both are beloved members of the congregation.

In recognition of this milestone, we are thrilled to announce an addition to our thirdArts concert line-up, an annual Organ Concert in Honor of Peter and Mary DuBois, made possible by a generous gift from Mary E. Lundberg and Paul T. McArthur. The inaugural concert will be held in March 2022; watch our usual communications channels for more details as the date nears.
