January 3—Join us as we explore responses to some of the events of the summer that mobilized many in faith communities and beyond to address racism in our world.  We will see video statements and interviews with the PC(USA) stated clerk J. Herbert Nelson, as well as leaders of a church in Minneapolis located just blocks from where George Floyd was killed, on their role in trying to dismantle white supremacy.

January 10—“RocACTS:  Why?  What?  Who?  Where?”

Presenter:  Deni Mack, chair of RocACTS Religious Leaders’ Caucus and a member of RocACTS since its beginning. Come and learn about RocACTS, which Third Church has joined. Presenter Deni Mack is also involved in social justice ministry at the Church of the Assumption in Fairport.

January 17—“Renewing Church,” (Part 1 of 2) Conley Zomermaand and the Mission Study Team provide an update on the transition process and seek feedback from the congregation

January 24—We are thrilled to welcome the Rev. Dr. Angela Sims, President of CRCDS, for a presentation titled “Peace, Service, Justice: Theological and Multi-Religious Education During Pandemic Times”

January 31—“Renewing Church,” (Part 2 of 2) Conley Zomermaand and the Mission Study Team continue their update and seek further feedback.

For the Month of January, we will be trying out a new program called “The Wired Word.”  This web-based study looks at current events and reflects on them through the lens of scripture.  Participants will be given access to the articles and reflections one week in advance.  To be added to this distribution list, contact Becky D’Angelo-Veitch at rveitch@thirdpresbyterian.org.
