CAST YOUR VOTE FOR THE YOUTH VIDEO!

ymilive video

The Youth have produced a video based on the scripture Micah 6:8, "What does the Lord require of you but to do justice, love kindness and walk humbly with your God?", the theme of the 2008 General Assembly. They need your vote!

The three youth groups with the most votes will each receive a $25,000 endowment fund, established by the Presbyterian Foundation Group, to benefit their church’s youth ministry. The winners will be announced at the 2008 General Assembly (June 21-28, San Jose, California).

Youth Mission Initiative LIVE (“ymiLIVE”) is an online community created by the Presbyterian Foundation Group, a vital part of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). The site is intended for Presbyterian youth, their parents and all who share an active commitment to serve Christ’s mission.

PROGRAMS

Sunday School Class for Junior Highs meets on Sunday mornings from 9:30 - 10:30 am in the Youth Lounge. The class features popular videos with an emphasis on their significance for youth as Christians.

Sunday Evening Youth Program - Offers a variety of opportunities for youth in grades 7 - 12 to choose among several musical and fellowship activities with their peers. The schedule is:

Church Buddies - Get involved with fellow youth in grades 10-12 as we gather Wednesday evenings from 6:00-7:30 for dinner. Afterwards we meet to discuss a Bible passage brought by someone and then go wherever the Spirit leads... confidences are held!

Commissioning Class - Youth in Grades 9-12 who are interested in exploring the meaning of church membership for them meet Wednesday evenings from 6:00-7:30 during the school year for dinner, study, and discussion. Participants explore the Bible and its relationship to their individual faith journeys. The youth develop a personal faith statement, and, in late-spring, are given the opportunity to become members of the church.
