JUNIOR HIGH MISSION 2005 |
| TUESDAY, AUGUST 30 - Meet at the church at 9:00 am, prepare a meal for about 40 people, and deliver it to Ronald McDonald House, where we will tour the facilities and learn of their work in our community. Parents will pick up youth at the church at 4:00 pm when we return. |
| WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 31 - Meet at the church at 9:00 am and head out to Cameron Community Ministries where we will help out in the food cupboard, clothing center, and other areas of service. Following Cameron, we will go to the Seneca Park Zoo where we will have a pizza dinner and explore the zoo in the dark. Bring your flashlights and sleeping bags. We will then spend the night at the activity center there. |
| THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 1 - In the morning we will meet zoo crews and find out what we can do to help out there. Parents will pick up youth at the zoo at 2:00 pm on Thursday afternoon. |
FALL RETREAT |
YOUTH FLOWER SALE!On Sundays through May 7, the youth of Third Church will be selling annuals (geraniums, impatiens and vinca) during coffee hour after 10:45 worship, for planting over the Memorial Day Weekend. Proceeds from the sale will be used for this year’s Senior High Mission Trip to “The Meeting Ground” in Elkton, Maryland in July, as well as to assist church youth in paying for retreats and other youth activities. Flowers which are ordered may be picked up on Sunday, May 28 after the service. |
Summer, 2006 Mission ActivitiesJuly 9-14: Silver Bay Presbyterian Youth Conference in Lake George, NY. (Registration is open to Youth entering 9th grade next Fall through those graduating from 12th grade this Spring.) July 23-29: Senior High Mission Trip to The Meeting Ground in Elkton, MD. Youth will be working alongside formerly homeless people on the grounds there. There will be a special free day in Baltimore as well. (Registration is open to Youth entering 9th grade next Fall through those graduating from 12th grade this Spring.) August 29-31: Junior High Mission Opportunity here in the city of Rochester. There will be an overnight and plenty of opportunity for fun and work that benefits those in need. (Registration is open to Youth entering 7th grade next Fall through those graduating from 8th grade this Spring.) |
