Rochester Figure Skater Takes a Medal at the 2003 State Games of America

Tyler Tyler placed third in Gold Footwork and sixth in Intermediate Men's Free Skate at the State Games of America in Hartford, Connecticut on August 8, 2003.

Tyler The State Games of America is the premier Olympic-style national event for athletes of all ages set up as a continuation of local State Game competitions. Tyler qualified by taking the Intermediate Men's Free Skate bronze medal at the Empire State Games in February 2003 at Lake Placid.

Tyler is a member of the Genesee Figure Skating Club and has been skating for seven years. He trains in both Rochester (RIT) and at the Olympic Complex in Lake Placid. His primary coach is Pamela Bossar and he also works with Judy Ferris-Brunett, Jill Magellan (both based in Rochester), the Litz Team and choreographer Mimi Wacholder (both based in Lake Placid).

Come Experience a Third Church Ghost Story this Halloween! The youth program at Third Presbyterian Church invites you to a fun Halloween program this year, in parallel with the Landmark Society Ghost Walk.

The Numbing Nightmare will take place on Friday and Saturday nights, between 6:30 and 8:30 pm, beginning in the Third Church chapel. The Landmark Society Ghost Walk will be taking place on the same evenings, starting from the Third Church sanctuary. Come and enjoy both events on the same evening!

Tickets for the Numbing Nightmare are $5 at the chapel door. This event is part of the fundraising efforts for our mission trip next summer to San Savastian, Puerto Rico, through the Presbytery of San Juan.

Rock around the Christmas tree


" the super-cool-last-day-of-school-everyones-gonna-be-there-so-you-better-be-there-too" Christmas party at 12 Corners Presbyterian Church.

The dance/party (featuring a live dj, free food and dancing) is gonna be from 7-11 and if you want to stay after, we'll be watching a movie and getting out at about 12:30.

There is no charge for admission but please bring a new or gently used toy for the Rochester toy Library or DVD for Troops in Iraq.

Puerto Rican Cultural Event & Trip Fundraiser


5:00-7:00 p.m. - Food, Entertainment, Raffle

Our own Susie Jacobs has planned an inspired Latino menu for the evening which will also include music and Puerto Rican inspired entertainment. (Merengue lessons, anyone?) All this for only $5! Raffle tickets are bering sold for chances for a leather Thomasville chair and ottoman: $2 per chance or $5 for three chances.
