Current
Responsibilities/Goals
I
serve as primary organist for the church, and direct the Chancel Choir,
Covenant Singers (youth choir), and Sr. High Ensemble. I also provide
general
oversight and coordination for the church's entire ministry of music
and the arts. I provide staff support to both the Worship Committee and
the Music
and Arts Committee.
Currently,
I am involved in two recording projects with church groups. One is a CD
of Advent and Christmas music that the Chancel Choir is producing
this spring for release in the fall of 2000. The second is a recording
of music prepared by the youth choirs, consisting of music they have prepared
for worship this year. Included will be anthems by the Covenant Singers,
Sr. High Ensemble, and a youth bell choir. This will be available this
summer.
Other
aspects of my work which are particularly exciting include the addition
of the Sr. High Ensemble to the youth portion of the music and arts ministry
of this congregation, as well as the musical growth in the Covenant Singers.
The youth are especially fun to work with! Also, plans are presently in
the works for a performing tour of England by the Chancel Choir in the
summer of 2001 - another very exciting project! The Music and
Arts Committee
is exploring ways to increase the use of visual art in our building, and
is preparing for a touring national exhibit of children's art in April
2001. |
