Dining Room Ministry Volunteers

Volunteers are the heart and soul of our Dining Room Ministry program. Approximately 150 volunteers work on teams of meal planners, food shoppers, bakers and cooks/servers. A volunteer may work on any of these teams in the following time frames:

Server/cooks work on teams of 9-12 people on one Saturday morning every 10 weeks. Schedules are set a year in advance. In addition to joining a team, volunteers may choose to serve as a substitute, or simply once in a while as desired. Special once-a-year teams are formed when major holidays fall on a Saturday. In 2010, Christmas was on a Saturday. We had more volunteers than guests that day. What great service we offered!
Meal planners and food shoppers work together in teams of 2, and serve for a month at a time, approximately 3 times a year.
Bakers are asked to bring in desserts (typically cookies or brownies or cake) about once every 10 weeks.
