Third Presbyterian Church has a long tradition of fine music as an integral part of its worship life. The church celebrates the gifts that the Chancel Choir brings to worship weekly, and here presents a sampling of favorite anthems from their repertoire. The selections for this recording, and their arrangement, have the "feel" of the church year, but without specific reference to liturgical seasons (excepting Christmas selections, tracks 7-10). Included are anthems of praise and power, rejoicing and reflection, from both folk traditions and works by significant composers of our European and American heritage.
