Season: Advent Symbolism: The Christmas rose, a white hardy rose that blooms at Christmas, is the symbol of the Nativity. This hanging replaced the lovely hanging that was destroyed by the sanctuary fire.     Designer: Jeanette Olson Antependium: Helen Meyer Bible Marker I: Janet Reed Bible Marker II: Helen Meyer Blocking: Peg Clark Memorial: Designed and sewn in loving memory of Vera Sanderson, Jeanette Olson's mother, in memory of Mary Gaylord, Helen Meyer's mother, and in memory of Jean Hardy, all of whom died while this piece was being made. First used: November 24, 1996
