New Member Orientation
Everyone is welcome to join Third Church! Our new members come from many different
backgrounds. Some have “grown up” in church (perhaps it was a Presbyterian,
Methodist, Baptist, Unitarian, United Church of Christ, or church of another denomination).
But for many people, Third Church is their first church experience.
People who have been members of another church join by letter of transfer or by
reaffirmation of faith. For those who have never been baptized, a special session
is offered to prepare for baptism and a profession of faith.
If you would like to know more about joining Third Church, about baptism, or about
what we at Third Church believe:
Exploring Membership Opportunities
Have you found your way to Third Church and wonder what participation in this church might mean for you? Have you been active in the church and consider deepening your ties to this community of faith? Are you interested in becoming a member, but have questions?
Make plans to attend one of the "Exploring Membership" dinners. This is an opportunity to meet staff, members, and other newcomers. We will share our stories of how we connect with Third Church community and will explore ways in which to deepen that connection.
Following the dinner, those who wish to become members of Third Church can choose to attend one of two New Member Gatherings: immediately after the dinner or the following Sunday morning. For more information, please contact Martha Langford (mlangford@thirdpresbyterian.org or 271.6513 ext 108).
