Third Presbyterian Church
New Member Orientation
2007-2008
Everyone is welcome to join Third Church! Our new members come from
many different backgrounds. Some have “grown up” in church
(perhaps it was a Presbyterian, Methodist, Baptist, Unitarian, United
Church of Christ, or church of another denomination). But for many people,
Third Church is their first church experience.
We offer a Member Orientation Class for those who want to join. Each
class meets for two sessions, for two hours each session, from 8:30-10:30
am on Sunday mornings. Class members are received into membership at
the 10:45 am service after the second session. There are usually 6-12
people in a class. The course include topics such as Presbyterian beliefs,
the meaning of Worship and Sacraments, Reformed Theology, Stewardship,
sharing our faith journeys, a brief history of Third Church, and how
to get involved.
Member Orientation Classes 2007-2008
• September 30 & October 14, 8:30-10:30am
• January 6 & 13, 8:30-10:30am

People who have been members of another church join by letter of transfer
or by reaffirmation of faith. For those who have never been baptized,
a special session is offered to prepare for baptism and a profession
of faith.
