Each week for the rest of Lent, we will be thinking about people around the world with whom we can, through our fish banks, share our gifts. The filled banks will be collected during worship on Easter Sunday.
Our theme for this year is: "Serve one another with whatever gift each of you has received" (1 Peter 4:10b)
The suggestions below can help you and your child reflect on the needs of others and the blessings you have as a family. Every week place money in the bank by choosing a coin amount (1¢, 5¢, 10¢, 25¢, $1) and using the suggestion for the week.
Week of February 24th—This week think about and pray for families in the world who don't have enough food to eat. Put one coin in your bank for each can or box of food in your pantry.
Week of March 3rd—This week think about and pray for families in the world who do not have adequate places to live. Put one coin in your bank for each room in your house.
Week of March 10th—This week think about and pray for families in the world who do not have warm clothing for winter. Put one coin in your bank for every coat hanging in your closet.
Week of March 17th—This week think about and pray for families in the world who must walk long distances for clean water. Put one coin in your bank for every wheel that your family uses for transportation (car=4 wheels, bike=2 wheels).
Holy Week (Week of March 24th )—This is when we remember Jesus' last days with his disciples. Jesus' disciples called him "teacher". Put one coin in your box for every teacher that you have.
