Mardi Gras Celebration 2006

< Previous

Mardi Gras is a long-standing tradition at Third Church, celebrating the last day before the start of Lent.

Mardi Gras in French means "Fat Tuesday", a name which historically marks a last day when shortening could be used in cooking, so people would use up their remaining shortening by feasting on pancakes.

This year, storyteller Jay Stetzer entertained children - young and old. The Meigs Street Ramblers provided great music as usual, and the kitchen staff made some great pancakes.

Here are some snap shots from this year's photo album.
