The
Board of Deacons is an ordained body of 26 officers elected by the congregation
to assist in the care of members, family and friends of the church.
The
Deacons operate with the following five subcommittees:

Hospital
and Crisis Ministry: coordinates care for those members who are hospitalized
or dealing with loss. In cooperation with the pastors, deacons make brief
visits to those in the hospital or recovering at home.

Ongoing
Care Ministry: oversees care of those who are homebound or in nursing
facilities. These deacons coordinate the Senior Visitor program,
an annual luncheon for seniors, and gatherings at various homes such as
Valley Manor, Kirkhaven, St. John's Meadow, The Highlands and The Friendly

Prayer
and Spiritual Life Ministry: maintains the Prayer Cordon and
provides educational opportunites such as retreats for the congregation.

ministry: two youth deacons minister to other youth in the congregation
and plan events for them such as brunch for graduating high school seniors.
