Tom Mueller

Tom Mueller, a Maine native, is an organist, guitarist and composer. He comes to us from a position as Director of Music at First Congregational Church (UCC) in Camden, Maine. A specialist in choral composition, his works have been performed and broadcast throughout the United States. His current commissions include a film score, as well as a chamber work for cello and piano.

In 2010, he performed the complete organ works of Johann Sebastian Bach in a series of seventeen concerts, becoming one of the youngest organists to accomplish this feat.

He also plays guitar in The Muellers, an award-winning family bluegrass group, with whom he has toured throughout North America. Their fourth album, The Muellers, was released in 2009.

Tom holds degrees from the University of Maine (B.Mus in jazz composition) and the University of Notre Dame (M.S.M. in organ). His principal organ teacher has been Craig Cramer. In August, he will begin doctoral studies in organ as a student of David Higgs at the Eastman School of Music.
