Qabats2003 - 2004 Program YearQabats is our mid-week program held on Wednesday nights from 5:30-7:30pm from October to April. It is open to children in 1st through 6th grades. Qabats integrates Bible-themed activities, music, and fellowship. Adult volunteers are an integral part of this program, and through all the activities, particularly the shared dinner time, children and adults build relationships. Ask anyone-Qabats is a load of fun! This fall, we will continue with our new model, the Workshop Rotation Model (WoRM) for Qabats. There will be six monthly themes. Rather than doing a new theme each night, we will look at one bible theme for each month. For each Bible story we will have three centers in one of four themes: arts and crafts, drama, audio-visual/computers, or Bible skills and games. We are excited this year to be programming our themes based on the Children’s Musical that we will be doing in April-“Once Upon a Parable”. November - The parable of the Hearers and Doers December - The parable of the Mustard Seed January - Zaccheus February - The Parable of the Vineyard March - Psalms (Glorious Things only) April - Full Musical Rehearsals There will be one center for each week of the theme with groups rotating through them, so that at the end of each theme, all students will have done each center. This will be done for grades 1 & 2 and grades 3 - 5, with 6th graders working on a leadership focus. It has been our experience that by 6th grade, students are ready for a different challenge. We hope that you will join us for our 11th year of Qabats! For more information: Return to
