Care
"Beloved, let us love one another."

2007 Annual Report The Board of Deacons
2007 was a year of change for the Board of Deacons. We bid farewell to Deborah Hughes,
Interim Assistant Pastor for Congregational Care, and a few months later were happy
to welcome Jamie Kenyon, Interim Pastor for Deacons / Pastoral Care. The ongoing
presence and able ministry of Parish Visitor Pam Foye provided stability during
the changes. Pam continues to be a source of support and wisdom as we seek to serve
the congregation on a one-to-one basis.
The current Board of Deacons is made up of 26 (including two youth Deacons) enthusiastic,
dedicated and caring members who are supportive not only of their parish and the
congregation as a whole, but also of each other.A sense of camaraderie and friendship
permeates our meetings and events.
The work of the Deacons includes:
- Weekly
-
The Deacons deliver chancel flowers to hospitalized members .

The congregation is kept informed of our activities through The
Deacon’s Bench, a monthly column in the Messenger. We support both
the Food Cupboard and the Feasting on Friendship freezer with regular contributions.
The Deacons provide a representative to the Nominating Committee. In order to better
assist our parish members, we seek to increase our understanding and skills through
in-service training from the Pastor and Parish Visitor.
